Well, David has been on vacation for the past week, so I decided to take today off from work to spend a little quality time with my man. I thought today would be the perfect opportunity to get some wedding things attended to! Boy, did we get a lot done, and now I am just pooped. Okay, so here is our day, in review.
10:30am - Pick up David, drive to apartment complex
11:00am - Look at the 1 bedroom apartment, decide to go ahead and take the necessary steps to get on the waiting list, and to lock in the $639/month rate
11:15am - Drive to bank, get a money order (for apartment stuff), drive to my house, get check stubs, drive to David's house, get check stubs. Also, in all of the hustle and bustle of getting stuff together for the apartment waiting list, I talked to a man from Liberty Mutual about auto insurance.
12:30pm - Head out the door to go to Cake Affairs to make a payment on the cakes, and for David to taste!
1:00pm - Arrive at Cake Affairs. David tastes the cake. He doesn't like it. AHHH!!! So, I compromised. Now, we are having almond cake with bavarian cream filling. It's still tasty, just not what I want from the beginning. But, he did love the chocolate cake with strawberry filling for the groom's cake. And, we have paid over half the total for the cakes!! That's a good feeling.
1:15pm - Leave Cake Affairs. Eat some good Chinese food at Cafe Chopstix, which is in the same shopping center as Al's Formal.
2:00pm - Al's Formal. Pick out tuxes for the wedding, and nearly choke to death when the sales representative tells us how much it will be for the rental. Ok, then we made some changes, and lowered the price significantly. David was very cute and decisive.. and said that he really wanted to stand out, apart from the groomsmen, and wear something a little different, which I thought was very sweet. So, David decided to wear an ivory vest and tie, instead of the espresso (like the groomsmen and my Dad will wear), and "match" me.
3:00pm - Leave Al's Formal. Head to the apartments. Fill out the applications, give them some money, and head out the door.
3:30pm - Arrive at the barber shop for David to get a haircut for $4.99. Which was, by the way, such an awkward situation. The barber shop was completely silent, and it was full of people. It was so weird.
4:00pm - Go to David's and just relax.
5:30pm - Call the apartment complex to get an update on our application. They could give me no update, and said they would call tomorrow to let me know if we have been approved.
6:00pm - Get my car washed. Go to Best Buy to buy David's mom's Mother's Day Gift.
6:30pm - I leave David's, go to Blockbuster, rent 2 movies (one of which is in subtitles, which I did not know, and can not stand to watch), and grabbed McDonald's for dinner.
Whew... what a day. And tomorrow, we are going to a wedding, for David's best friend's brother. I'm sure it is going to make me want to get married so much sooner than I am. But, I did get a cute dress to wear, and we are getting married in just 5 months and 2 days. It's going to fly by.
Anyway. Thanks for reading about my day!
