Tuesday night, my Mom, Jennifer and I went to Beth Moore Bible study at Houston's First Baptist Church.
Wow.
I haven't been to a Beth Moore Bible study in years.. and I have not been going to church as regularly as I should.. but, I decided to go on Tuesday. I am so glad I did.
We started out with praise and worship... and it was so powerful.. singing praises to my Lord with 4,000 other women was incredible. I can't even describe it.. it was such a time of worship. Then, Beth came and gave a lesson on Revelation 1:1-8. There was so much to learn and hear from the Lord during that hour that she spoke.. but what really hit me was toward the end of her lecture.
She talked about in reference to Christ, the introduction to the book (of Revelation) specifies three titles: "the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth" and three works: "He loves us. He freed us. He made us to be..."
He freed us.
"It is for freedom He set us free." Galatians 5:1
Beth said that we are holding on to the chains of slavery, of bondage.. Satan wants us to think that we are stuck in bondage forever. But, that is not true. We are free... Christ's blood has set us free.
My arms had goosebumps up and down.. This was the Word for me on Tuesday night. Just the night before, I was talking to David about some things that have happened in my past that I just can't let go of.. That I continually beat myself up over.. that I just can't forgive myself for.. But, hearing those words He freed us. It's like, I just needed a little push.. a little reminder that I am free in Christ!

Just drop your ball like she said!
We all want to hold on to things that have happened in the past. We have to remember that Christ set up free and he never remembers the things we screw up on. We are the ones that hold on to them. We do have to drop the ball just like Beth said.
