Jean Shopping

I've been eating healthier and walking everyday (or almost everyday), and as a result, my jeans are falling off of me. It's a good thing.. but also annoying to have to keep tugging at them so they don't end up around my ankles. Fridays are casual/jean days at work, so I was excited to have an excuse to shop for a new pair. So, last night, David and I headed to the mall.

First stop. Old Navy. They make this new style of jeans called Dreamer.. I tried on a size smaller than I have been wearing, and they fit me like a glove. I couldn't contain my happiness... until I realized they were super long, and almost covering my toes. Unfortunately, that style does not come in different lengths. Bummer.

We then went to New York & Co.. no success. We ate dinner at Taco Bell, and I ate from the Fresco Menu.. why have I never tried this before? It was delicious! And healthy! I was feeling slightly discouraged, and really wanting those dreamy jeans from Old Navy.

Next stop: Macy's. I hate department stores. They are so huge and overwhelming to me.. too much to look at.. too many... yes, departments. But, I thought what the heck.. we'll give it a try.

The only jeans I could find were Levi's.. and I had a moment.. thinking, "Are Levi's dorky?" And then I thought.. who cares! So, I found a couple of pairs, and headed to the dressing room.. to find this:

I don't know if you can read that.. but it says, "You ARE beautiful". I was so taken aback by it.. and I thought, what a wonderful thing to have in a dressing room of all places.. this is often the place where we find that things don't look right, or the size we thought would fit, doesn't. I realize someone vandalized the dressing room -- but at least it was with a positive message!!

So, I tried the jeans on, and fell in love with Levi's 526. They were awesome.. but in my normal size, they were too big (give Him praise!!). I held on to another pair that fit well, but weren't that perfect fit like the 526's. The nice sales associate helped me search through racks and piles of jeans to look for my size in the 526's. We didn't find them.. but we did find the 529's.. for curvy girls. WHAT!!????

I put those babies on, and it was a Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants moment. They were absolutely perfect. Made for me, perhaps. True, they are a little long.. but that's a small price to pay when everywhere else fits just like it should.

AND, they were only $14!!!

We ended up going to another Macy's after we left, and I found the pair of 526's in my size. They also fit so well!! I bought those too. For $14.

I wore one of the pairs to work today, and received so many compliments and felt so good about myself!

There's nothin' like a good pair of jeans!!

Yeah for you! And I think they should put that saying up in all dressing rooms. All women could use a boost of confidence.

Finding the perfect pair of jeans is so important... and can be a depressing process for sure (unless you are a rockstar and going sizes smaller!).

Next time you are in need of jeans you have to try Gap Long and Lean. I have never met a girl that didn't adore them. And PTL for me they just started making them in maternity too!
